Land Based Recreation

This leaflet outlines the Land Based Recreation Theme which is funded under the Lough Neagh Strategic Fund.

Aim

The Land Based Recreation Theme aims to manage, enhance and market recreational opportunities for local people and visitors whilst ensuring the Lough Neagh Wetlands environmental, economic and social integrity.

Project Types

LR 1.1 – Upgrade existing and develop new access routes and infrastructure

We would like to fund a number of strategic projects dealing with improving cycleways, walkways, signage, cycle stands and access including car parks.

LR 1.2 – Upgrade key educational/visitor sites

We would like to fund a number of strategic projects dealing with the upgrading of key or new sites that offer a quality educational/visitor experience specific to Lough Neagh.
